Nonstop Service Between Los Angeles and Rome Is Resumed
Alitalia is the only airline to connect California and Italy with nonstop flights during the 2012 summer season
Alitalia resumed summer season service between Los Angeles and Rome on May 1st, and is the only airline to connect California and Italy with nonstop flights during the 2012 summer season. The flights from and to Los Angeles will be operated with a reconfigured Boeing 777 aircraft featuring a three-class cabin configuration: Magnifica - the award-winning business class cabin with seats that convert to flat-beds; Classica Plus - the premium economy class cabin with more comfort and legroom; and Classica - the economy class cabin with ergonomically designed seats.
By June 2012, the Alitalia Boeing 777 fleet refurbishment project will be completed, and all ten aircraft will offer the redesigned interiors, the same already found on new Alitalia A330s, in regular service between Miami and New York and Milan and Rome.
Also, on May 2nd, Alitalia resumed seasonal service between Chicago and Rome. Service from Chicago to Rome is five times weekly, and is operated by A330 and B767 aircraft featuring Alitalia's Magnifica Business Class and Classica Economy Class.
