Singapore Airlines A380 Forced to Abort a Flight Service
The Singapore Airlines Airbus (SIA) A380 superjumbo flight service, which has a daily flight service to Frankfurt, has been forced to abort the service, after the pilots reported an engine problem
About 430 passengers were transferred to another flight, after returning to Singapore. Singapore Airlines mentioned in a statement that Flight SQ26, carried around 430 passengers has landed at 6:40 am (local time), because of the pilot reporting a problem in one of the jet’s four Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines. The problem has been reported by the pilot 3 hours after the takeoff.
The spokesperson of the carrier mentioned that the engine would go severe inspections, by consulting with the engine manufacturers. During July, A380 SIA flight traveling to Hong Kong from Singapore has been aborted, after one of the four Rolls Royce engines reported a problem.
Recently, Qantas A380 made emergency landing in Singapore during 2010, after the engine reported a problem.
