Iberia Increases Sweden and Denmark Frequencies
The Spanish airline will meet higher demand on these routes adding more than 2,000 extra seats
Iberia will increase its seat supply on flights from Stockholm (Sweden) and Copenhagen (Denmark) to Spain. Every Saturday from July 4 until August 1, 2009 the airline will add a second flight from Copenhagen; it will also add a second flight from Stockholm every Saturday, except for on August 1.
Meanwhile, on six days a week in June, on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays in July, and on the first two Sundays in August, Iberia will operate larger A-321s on the Stockholm - Madrid route.
In this way the Spanish airline can meet the higher demand on these routes during the summer season, adding a total of more than 2,000 extra seats.
Currently Iberia operates one daily flight from Copenhagen to its Madrid hub and one daily flight between Stockholm and the Spanish capital, with connections to 37 destinations in Spain, 17 in Latin America, 5 in the United States, and 9 in Africa and the Middle East. In 2008 the company carried nearly 100,000 passengers between Sweden and Spain and more than 78,000 between Denmark and Spain. This year the total seat supply on each route will be increased to more than 120,000.
