AirTran Airways Adds Nonstop Flights Between Milwaukee and Dallas/Fort Worth
AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AAI), today began nonstop service between General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. The airline will offer two daily nonstop flights between the cities and will be the only carrier to operate full-sized, Boeing jets on the route.
This new route marks the 18th city AirTran Airways serves from General Mitchell. Earlier today the airline officially opened its Milwaukee pilot and flight attendant bases, significantly expanding its operations and number of Crew Members at this key location.
"Connecting these two important business destinations is another strategic milestone for our Company. With the addition of this route, we now offer service to 18 of the top 20 most popular cities in the country," said Kevin Healy, senior vice president of marketing and planning for AirTran Airways. "As importantly, we're introducing Business Class, Wi-Fi and a full-sized jet to this route. These are all important qualities to business travelers."
