Air India Cargo Wins ‘Cargo Airline Of The Year’ Award
The selection is based on voting by over 20,000 freight forwarders around the world
Air India Cargo is the proud recipient of the ‘CARGO AIRLINE OF THE YEAR’ Award for the year 2009 at the 26th Cargo Airline of the year Award function held in London on April 25, 2009.
This is the first time that Air India Cargo has won this Award .The Award constituted by the ‘Air Cargo News’, UK group, is given to top Cargo Airlines around the world, which have contributed to the growth of the Air Cargo industry during the year. Air India Cargo won the Award in the category of the ‘Best Central Asia Cargo Airline’, in recognition of its role in developing the air cargo market to/from the region. Mrs. Anita Khurana, SBU Head, Cargo, Air India, accepted the Award on behalf of the Airline.
The Award winners are selected based on voting by over 20,000 freight forwarders around the world, which is fully audited by the British International Freight Association (BIFA). In the process, Air India cargo beat other Central Asian carriers, viz. Srilankan, PIA, Air Astana, etc. to win the top honour.
Air India’s achievement is a clear indication that the proactive approach adopted by Air India Cargo to encourage growth of air cargo industry, especially during the time of recession, has found greater acceptance amongst the freight forwarders.
