Vietnam Airlines obtains Jetstar Pacific stake
Vietnamese State Capital Investment Corporation currently owns 69.93% stake in JetStar Pacific.
Australian flag-carrier Qantas has recently declared the news that, “Vietnam Airlines is going to obtain a greater part of stake in the low-cost outcome JetStar Pacific. Qantas will sustain its 30% holding interest in the business subsequent to the transaction.
Qantas chief director Alan Joyce said that, “This partnership connects together the confirmed low cost model of Jetstar with the exceptional local awareness & existing networks of nationalized carrier Vietnam Airlines”.
He also added further, “We are quite happy and content about partnership linking a low-cost carrier and a occupied service flight in Vietnam can duplicate the victory of our Qantas and Jetstar policy in Australia, and chases our current partnership agreement with Japan Airlines to figure out Jetstar Japan.”
Following this contract, Jetstar Pacific will gain a capital addition of Aus$25 million. The income will be occupied for task force renewal, with five Boeing 737s to be reinstated with new Airbus A320s. The airline hopes to have 15 A320s in its task force in the coming time.
