Strong Increase in Domestic Tourism noticed: VisitEngland

The rise in the local visits amongst friends and relatives is noticed remarkably higher, that even signs a good moral for the city people!!!

VisitEngland declared the figures today, the national tourist board, disclose the figure of domestic overnight tours experienced in England in September last year increase by 22% compared to 2010, while spend enhanced by 13%.

The Holiday tours were up by 19% during September and visits to friends-relatives enhance by 33%, most possibly enhanced by the strangely warm weather pleasured in the country. Bearing in mind the year to date info, the number of holiday tours taken in England from January-September 2011 enhanced by 5%, compared to 2010. This symbolizes almost 40 million tours taken in the first nine months of the year that is higher than the pre-recession levels.

It is worth noting that, Holiday spends for the same year grew 11% compared to the year of 2010. All sorts of locations witnessed a growth in holiday tours during the same period; towns charged the top with growth of 10%. The Countryside & villages trip were 8% enhanced, and seaside trips grew by 3%.

The chief executive of Visit England, James Berresford said: “The span and variety of what England has to propose as a destination is indicated by the truth that holiday tours have enhanced diagonally the board, town, coast, seaside and countryside; all greeted more domestic guests in the first 9months of 2011 compared to 2010.
