Bombardier Aerospace returns to the Farnborough International Airshow with four of its innovative and industry-leading aircraft. As the world's third largest civil aircraft manufacturer, Bombardier will highlight the broad spectrum of its business and commercial aircraft products, technical expertise and customer and aircraft services at this important aerospace event.

On static display for viewing will be the midsize Learjet 60 XR, large cabin Challenger 605 and long-range Global 5000 business jets, as well as the Q400 NextGen turboprop airliner.

"The Farnborough Airshow is the year's largest gathering of aviation customers, manufacturers and suppliers. It literally draws customers from around the world and is an important and valuable show for us," said Guy C. Hachey, President and Chief Operating Officer, Bombardier Aerospace. "Despite the current difficult economic conditions being experienced in Europe, the importance of this market cannot be understated. We are a truly global company, and with one of our aircraft taking off or landing somewhere on the planet every three seconds, we understand the importance of meeting our customer's needs wherever they may be."

Continuing to work on reducing our impact on the environment

In line with its commitment to reduce the environmental footprint of its products and operating facilities, Bombardier Aerospace has implemented an integrated environmental strategy that will continuously improve its performance in such areas as lowering greenhouse gas emissions, reducing energy consumption and increasing the use of recyclable materials. As stated in its latest corporate social responsibility report, Bombardier's achievements include a decrease in its water consumption by 35 per cent, energy consumption by 17 per cent and greenhouse gas emissions by 10 per cent between 2004 and 2009.

Recycling is an important step to creating a sustainable environment and is one in which everyone can easily participate. As the official sponsor of the Farnborough International Airshow's recycling program, Bombardier is proud to provide the recycling bins throughout the site. Each action, whether large or small, can make a difference.

Bombardier Business Aircraft

With over 560 corporate jets based in Europe, Bombardier business aircraft account for over 20 per cent of the installed base in the region, including Russia and CIS. A leader in innovative products and services, Bombardier is committed to product development. The Global Vision flight deck and all-new Learjet 85 aircraft remain on schedule for entry into service in 2012 and 2013 respectively.

With three aircraft now in its flight test program, two Global Express XRS and a Global 5000, and over 300 hours of flights already completed, the Global Vision flight deck is well on its way to meeting its 2012 entry-into-service objective. Bombardier Global aircraft are already renowned for their unsurpassed speed, range and cabin combination. The Global Vision flight deck, featuring the latest in enhanced vision and synthetic vision technology, will ensure that Global aircraft maintain their dominant position as the world's ultimate business jets.

The Learjet 85 aircraft is the largest, fastest, longest-range Learjet aircraft ever. Featuring the largest cabin in the midsize segment, this aircraft offers next generation cabin interiors combined with the largest ever Learjet windows. Its superior performance will combine the best climb and range-to-speed ratio with low direct operating costs. The jet's superior technology aspects include its avionics suite that is derived from the Global Vision platform and the latest in green engine technology.

Bombardier Commercial Aircraft

During the airshow, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft will highlight the operating and maintenance economics, performance, passenger comfort, environmental features and customer support network of its CRJ NextGen and Q400 NextGen regional aircraft, as well as its all-new CSeries single-aisle, mainline aircraft.

Designed to be the most operationally flexible, single-aisle aircraft in the 100- to 149-seat market segment, the CSeries family of aircraft will be the greenest commercial jetliners in their class and deliver up to 15* per cent operating cost savings at entry-into-service in 2013. Powered by Pratt and Whitney's award-winning, fuel-efficient PurePower® PW1000G engine, and benefiting from fourth-generation aerodynamics and an increased use of composites and advanced aluminium alloys, the CSeries aircraft will emit 20* per cent less CO2 and 50* per cent less NOx, fly four* times quieter, and deliver the lowest operating costs in their class. Widebody comfort, mature dispatch reliability at entry-into-service and total life-cycle improvements will further position the CSeries aircraft to meet the needs of airlines for 2013 and beyond.

The Farnborough International Airshow runs from Monday, July 19 to Friday, July 23 for trade visitors, and Saturday, July 24 to Sunday, July 25 for public visitors. The Bombardier chalet is located at C 1-2. It will be closed on Sunday, July 25.

The airshow expects to attract approximately 1,300 exhibitors from 40 countries. In 2008, more than 285,000 visitors attended over seven days.

Bombardier aircraft on static display:

Learjet 60 XR aircraft: In service since July 2007, the Learjet 60 XR aircraft is a proven model of performance, comfort, value and versatility in the midsize jet market segment. It delivers a high cruise speed of Mach 0.81 (861 km/hr), superior climb capabilities, proven fuel efficiency and low direct operating costs per nautical mile**. The jet's higher operating altitudes – certified to 51,000 ft (15,545 m) – translate to time savings due to better winds, less traffic and less turbulence. The Learjet 60 XR aircraft can fly from Farnborough to Cairo non-stop with four passengers and two crew**. It is now available with the Signature Series interiors, which combine bold design elements with increased functionality to bring the large cabin concept to a midsize jet.

Challenger 605 aircraft: In service since January 2007, the Challenger 605 jet builds on the legacy of quality and reliability of its predecessor, the acclaimed Challenger 604 jet, leading its market share segment throughout the world. The Challenger 605 jet can whisk five passengers from Farnborough to Delhi non-stop**, in superior comfort. It features the widest stand-up cabin of any large category business jet available today and is equipped with the Pro Line 21 avionics suite and an all-new cabin electronic system. The Bombardier Enhanced Vision System (BEVS) is offered as optional equipment on the Challenger 605 jet.

Global 5000 aircraft : The Global 5000 jet offers the perfect combination of range and cabin comfort to satisfy the growing corporate travel needs of European customers. The super large jet combines superior transatlantic speed with the largest cabin in its market segment. It features high-speed Internet connectivity and unmatched entertainment options, as well as a heads-up flight display system, with the largest field-of-view of any business aircraft. With a recent range increase of 400 NM (741 km), the jet can now connect Farnborough-Shanghai non-stop with eight passengers and three crew**.

Q400 NextGen aircraft: Launched in March 2008, the lower-emission, fuel-efficient, "comfortably greener" Q400 NextGen turboprop airliner is the most recent development in the evolution of the Q400 aircraft, and the advanced successor to the Dash 8/Q-Series family of aircraft. Revised in the same spirit as Bombardier's CRJ NextGen aircraft family, the
Q400 NextGen aircraft features an enhanced cabin environment with the introduction of LED lighting, new ceiling panels, dished window sidewalls and larger overhead luggage bins. These features combined with the Active Noise and Vibration Suppression (ANVS) system provide an excellent cabin experience for passengers.

Bombardier, Bombardier Enhanced Vision System, Challenger 604, Challenger 605, CRJ, CSeries, Dash 8, Global, Global 5000, Global Express, Global Vision, Learjet, Learjet 60, Learjet 85, NextGen, Q-Series, Q400, XR and XRS are registered or unregistered trademarks of Bombardier Inc. or its subsidiaries.
