American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute Expands Into Qatar

Casabella Hospitality Management, Doha has been appointed Master License of Hospitality Education Programme (HEP)

American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute academic courses and hospitality industry training and certification will be introduced in Doha, Qatar through its recent agreement with Casabella Hospitality Management.

Due to a robust boost in the hospitality sector, more than 21,000 additional hotel rooms and units are expected to open for business by the end of 2012, according to statistics by the Qatar Tourism Authority. This increase is due to the surging demand for this category of hotel facilities in the hotel market, as well as efforts by Qatari and foreign investors to attract reputable international hotel names. Considerable support from the Qatari government and the Qatari Tourist Authority has also contributed to this rise in the number of hotels in Qatar. Qatar is the least affected by the repercussions of the global financial crisis, precisely because Qatar relies primarily on meeting and conference tourism as business travel offers a more dependable stream of income than the other forms of tourism.

This growth makes it essential to have a source of high-quality hospitality management education and professional certification for those preparing for employment in the hospitality field. Casabella Hospitality Management’s agreement with the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute will provide this much needed service.

“Sheikh Abdulaziz Abdulla J.F. AL-Thani, Chairman of Casabella Hospitality Management, is a visionary in bringing the international standards for the lodging industry by associating with the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute, which has been serving the hospitality industry for more than half a century,” said Alnoor Nazir Hussein (Management Consultant).

“The Casabella Hospitality Management team has a proven track record in Hotel Development and Operations in the Gulf region, Europe, Canada and America. Their compressive expertise will be invaluable to offer American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute training and certification to reflect the growing local needs,” he said, adding that courses will be offered in association with the local highly-reputable college.

“We look forward to our association with Casabella Hospitality Management. It is a privilege to play a role in ensuring that Qatar’s hospitality workforce is well prepared to meet the demands of the country’s booming tourism industry,” said Mr. Robert L. Steele III, CHA, President and COO of the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute.
