US Airways is excited to add nonstop service to Jamaica
Jamaica's winter season kicks off with US Airways' new nonstop service between Phoenix (PHX) and Montego Bay (MBJ). Scheduled to start December 17, 2009, the seasonal service will run until April 12, 2010 - in time to accommodate travelers during the island's busy winter tourist season. The flights will be operated using Airbus A319 aircraft which offers seating for 12 in first class and 112 in the main cabin.
"We are excited to welcome new and returning visitors from the Western U.S. with the launch of US Airways' new direct service from Phoenix to Montego Bay. The convenient schedule and good connectivity will allow visitors from many major cities in the western U.S. to experience Jamaica's recent developments in our accommodations, attractions and activities," said John Lynch, director of tourism for Jamaica. "We anticipate a great winter season."
"US Airways is excited to add nonstop service to Jamaica from our Phoenix hub to our Caribbean portfolio," said Senior Vice President, Marketing and Planning, Andrew Nocella. "This is especially great news for customers in the Western U.S., who now have their first one-stop connecting option to Jamaica west of Texas."
Montego Bay is the first nonstop Caribbean destination from US Airways' Phoenix hub. US Airways customers are currently able to fly nonstop to Montego Bay from the airline's East Coast Philadelphia and Charlotte hubs, as well as Boston.
