JW Marriott Luxury Hotel Brand to Open 10 New Properties in 2010
JW Marriott, plans to open 10 properties in five countries in 2010, bringing the total global portfolio of the brand to 54 hotels and resorts and 24,000 rooms. This unprecedented growth represents an investment exceeding $2 billion by JW Marriott property owners and franchisees.
The 10 JW Marriott hotels and resorts opening in 2010 include:
- China – Hangzhou
- Colombia – Bogota
- India – Bengeluru, Chandigarh, Chennai
- Turkey – Ankara
- The United States – San Antonio, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago
“The major growth expands the JW Marriott experience to some of the world’s premier cities and destinations,” said Don Semmler, executive vice president, full service brand management and operations, Marriott International. “Each of our hotels and resorts in the JW Marriott portfolio delivers a warmly authentic, relaxed and elegant guest environment that is unique to the segment that we call quiet luxury.”
An additional 20 JW Marriott hotels are also under construction or in development in 13 countries, including such diverse locations as The Maldives, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Puerto Rico and Indianapolis.

Asia-Pacific:
JW Marriott Hotel Hangzhou -- Opening in June, this stylish 330-room hotel will be situated in the center of Hangzhou’s dynamic central business district. It will offer three stunning restaurants, an inviting lobby lounge and an entertainment bar. Its recreational amenities will include an indoor swimming pool, a luxurious spa and a state-of-the-art fitness center.
