A Throwback to the “Share Your Travel Kiss” Photo Contest 2011.
As we are starting the new “Share Your Travel Kiss” TravelPapa International Photo Contest, we want to remind you of the last time we gave away prizes for the photos of your kisses.
What can be more beautiful than a picture of a true love’s kiss? One hundred ninety-six pictures of true love’s kiss! That is the number of entries we recieved on our previous “Share Your Travel Kiss” Photo Contest back in 2011. Seven years later we want to introduce to you the winners of this contest again. We hope their victory will encourage you to participate in “Share Your Travel Kiss” International Photo Contest 2018!
1st Place: Ilona Demenina (USA)
This photo received the main “people’s choice” prize. Ilona’s shot named «Long-Awaited Rendez-Vous» collected 3488 votes and received a $500 prize. But it is not just a picture, it is a wonderful story of a long-distance relationship. Here’s what Ilona wrote about this photo:
“When, through circumstances largely outside of our control, my boyfriend and I were forced to live in different countries for a year and a half, we made an effort to see each other as often as we could, meeting every month in different places around the world. This photo was taken in Moscow a month before we finally reunited for good. We've now been blissfully married for almost a year.”
What a beautiful, heartwarming story and a wonderful depiction of true love! We hope Ilona and her boyfriend are living their happy life together and they will never be apart again.
2nd Place - Natasha Rzucidlo (USA)
The second prize was received by Natasha Rzucidlo from USA. This lovely picture shows innocent love and tenderness. The photo of a little boy kissing his mom received 3274 votes. Natasha named this shot simply “Love…”. Because it is the only word that can describe these pure feelings of a child.
3rd Place – Shannon (USA)
You may think that this photo was taken decades ago. But it’s not! It is one more love story from 2010. Meet Shannon and her boyfriend from Spain! Even if they were living across the ocean their love was stronger than the distance between them. Here’s the story of this photo told by Shannon herself:
“My boyfriend and I live 4,000 miles away from one another. Whenever I travel to see him in Spain we spend our last day together on the beach watching the sunset over the Mediterranean. We always share one last kiss before I return to the U.S. It's always sad, but beautiful and I am glad we are able to share it with you.”
