Changes to Meal Service in Economy Class

Air Jamaica will introduce a new "Buy on Board" program

Effective May 1, 2009 Air Jamaica will offer its Economy Class passengers a complimentary packaged snack, instead of the current meal service. Tea, coffee, soft drinks and juices will be complimentary and passengers will be able to purchase alcoholic beverages as desired. Complimentary champagne will be discontinued.

In September, the airline will introduce a new "Buy on Board" programme in the Economy cabin designed to showcase the enticing flavours and beverages of Jamaica. "These changes in our meal service in Economy Class allow us to be more competitive in today's environment and will secure significant efficiencies as we serve the travel needs of our customers," said Bruce Nobles, President and CEO.

Air Jamaica's premium service in Lovebird Executive Class will continue to feature complimentary meals and beverages. Air Jamaica has 218 weekly flights to 13 destinations, with service between Jamaica and Toronto, New York (JFK), Chicago (O'Hare), Baltimore, Philadelphia, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Curacao, Nassau, and Havana, as well as service between New York and Barbados and New York and Grenada.
