Known as the Queen of the Adriatic, Venice is arguably one of Italy's most beautiful cities.

Also located in St. Mark's Square is St. Mark's Campanile, which is a brick bell tower that lets you overlook the city of Venice. This tower was originally built as a lighthouse and is now a tourist attraction that allows you to get a view of all the rooftops and cathedrals all throughout the city.

Finally, Doge's Palace in St. Mark's Plaza is a must see when you're in the area. A Venetian Gothic style landmark, the palace has been redesigned as a museum. This plaza is stunning at any time of the day or night, but it's the most exhilarating after the sun sets and the stars are out to play. There are a few restaurants in the plaza that have outside seating, and a plate of spaghetti and meatballs will hit the spot. If you have the chance to sit outside and listen to some live, classical music with a side of (very expensive!) tea and an Italian dessert, enjoy it! Obviously, no trip to this remarkable city would be complete without a photo opportunity at the Rialto Bridge. The oldest bridge in Venice, standing at the tip top of the bridge gives you the best view of the Grand Canal. You can catch someone getting proposed to on the regular whenever you are on the bridge! The canal also offers those world famous gondola rides and plenty of open markets that sell Italian memorabilia.
