New York City in just one day!
Multiple trips to New York City later, I have mastered the way to experience this magnificent city in just one day!
Multiple trips to New York City later, I have mastered the way to experience this magnificent city in just one day! Obviously, to really get to know a city, you have to spend time with it and explore its winding streets and picturesque restaurants, but if you're simply in town for a few short hours, there is a way to make the most it. I love double decker buses to get around any city when you're in a pinch, because they will take you to all the key sites that you'd want to see. Times Square is the most popular destination in New York and for good reason; it's full of excitement, lots of movement and lots of tourists! A pleasant stroll down Broadway is ideal and even stopping by to see a show is highly recommended! A somber visit to the world trade center memorial was an important visit for me and it was beautiful to see those lost in the horrible incident commemorated in a majestic way. When it comes to the lady of the land, there is no way to properly visit the statue of liberty except for up close and personal. A lot of bus passes also include a quick boat ride around the statue and the view is absolutely breathtaking. After so much time spent walking and exploring, it's a nice treat to have a little picnic at central park. Finding some grass might be a bit tough considering it's the most visited park in the country, but it's nothing a delicious slice of New York style pizza can't fix. In my opinion, Rockefeller Center is best when seen during the winter time when there's a grand Christmas tree in the center of it and an ice skating rink but if you are there during the summer, there's still plenty of beauty to go around! Built in the early 1900's, this giant center is full of street performers and artists selling their work. If there's some extra time, a cone of gelato from Little Italy would be the perfect way to end any trip.
