Book Cheap Airline Tickets during Low Season!

When is the Cheapest Time of Year for Airline Travel?

We know that there are three travel seasons during the year:

  • low season,
  • middle season (also known as shoulder season)
  • and high season

Logically the cheapest airline tickets will be selling during low season and rising by the season. Typically, it is connected to the level of demand for trips between any two flight destinations, therefore, if the passenger demand for the journey is high during any time of the year then prices for flights will be costlier. The trick is to recognise the time when the demand for travelling will be low and book cheap flights for the preferred destination.

Low season is considered as such due to cheaper price on airline tickets, there other reasons two. One of them is weather at various times of the year, it can influence prices for the airline travel. For example, during winter in Europe it can be cold and snowy, so not as many people would be willing to travel at such time, thus the demand for flights to Europe will decrease as well as the prices for airline tickets. Another example can be rain season during the year in many Asian countries or in the Caribbean, that is when people travel less to these destinations and prices for flights become cheaper.

Another reason for changes in seasons during the year are academic schedules, that has an impact on prices due to students traveling home or on vacation during their holidays. For instance, prices for airline tickets can be very expensive during a university's Spring Break.

And of course, Holidays have the great effect on good prices on airline tickets. During holidays time airline tickets tend to be expensive, however, sometimes passenger can find a cheap flight right before or after the particular holiday.
