Montreal is a quaint city located in Quebec, Canada and makes you feel like you've just transported to a metropolitan city in France. The predominantly French region is an elegant mixture of historic French renaissance and urban sophistication, as seen in the infrastructure and the general beauty of the city. With only four days to spend in Montreal, I made sure to visit some key attractions, such as the Notre-Dame Basicilica, St. Joseph's Oratory and a pleasant stroll through Old Montreal. Because of Montreal's Catholic history, most of the attractions do have a
religious significance; they also make for great photo opportunities! A visit to Old Montreal is like a trip to a different world all in itself, with cobblestone streets, antique markets, traditional restaurants/pubs and plenty of live music. While visiting, I couldn't help but try some poutine (french fries covered in gravy and cheese) which seems to be a Montreal specialty according to every uber driver I had. On my last day in Montreal, I went for a stroll and stumbled upon a picturesque Chinatown, the modern Fine Arts Museum and the Botanical Garden. The garden
was the highlight of my trip, and included serene streams, miniature waterfalls and Japanese influenced architecture all throughout. It's definitely worth it to brush up on your Français and explore this unique city!
