From April 3rd, Sydney’s museum joins with The Festivalists, which is a non-profit arts event organization, for adults only event called Jurassic Lounge. In the third season, currently, people over 18 years old can have the access to the museum on Tuesday nights from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm, and can have access for comedy performances, arts and drinks, live music, talks, and so on. The museum also has dinosaur skeleton backdrop, native animals, gemstones, and many more. Later in the year, a winter season is also expected to run.
The acts get changed every week, but the standard installations comprise dance tournaments, karaoke, silent disco, walking Muttaburrasaurus called Winnysaur, which is an interactive dinosaur that steals the atrium hearts. The current events displayed are burlesque, comedy shows, and photography exhibitions such as Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2011.
In the museum, each level has got a bar, which includes moderately priced cocktails and drinks, Little Creature beers and ciders, and Innocent Bystander wines. Apart from this, light refreshments and meals are also available in the Museum’s café, which is available in the ground floor. The entrance fee is around 15 AUD, and you can have one free drink. If you want to avoid queues, you can book in advance as well.
