Africa turning the second most popular tourist destination after Europe
Travelling to Africa, Europe or North America can really prove exciting as these are the top ranked destinations of the year 2011 as per the report ‘Holidays Issue 11’.
As per the foremost digital marketing organization, Greenlight’s latest report i.e. ‘Holidays Issue 11’; ‘The total of online holiday searches shows 3.1 million at the end of 2011 including the African continent with a gush of inquiries far above those for the Caribbean, South East Asia and North America. The current report even found tourist searches for short haul & long haul destinations amplified by 7% and 8%, correspondingly, comparing to the preceding report.
Africa gave the tough competition to North America by winning tourist’s hearts in 2011:
The investigation discloses European destinations dominated in the year 2011, accounting for the Lion’s share of UK consumer holiday search queries, with North America following suit for the preeminent part. On the other hand, things took a striking spin in November, when Africa overtook North America to grow to be the next most accepted vacation hotspot search-wise, accounting for 17% of online holiday-related searches!
Turkey & Egypt ranked as the top tourist destinations in 2011:
The respective search keyword ‘Turkey holidays’ was searched 49,500 times, accounting for 9% of all short haul holiday destination queries, largely inside Europe. It was respectively chased by ‘Cyprus holidays’ and ‘Greece holidays’ with 33,100 and 22,200 hits online. Egypt attested to be the most admired long haul destination with the keyword search ‘Egypt holidays’, which queried 60,500 times.
