"The quality of leadership separates winners from losers," commented PhoCusWright president and CEO Philip Wolf, "and the Travel Industry Young Leadership Award is a catalyst for cultivating young executive talent in the world's largest industry."
PhoCusWright annually selects up to 35 elite young leaders in the travel, tourism and hospitality industries to be part of its Class of 35, a year-long executive development program for rising stars aged 35 and under. The 2011 program kicks off at The Young Leaders Summit@The PhoCusWright Conference, taking place in Hollywood, Florida, USA November 15-17, 2011.
The Class of 35 gains access to a range of events and contests, both during The PhoCusWright Conference and throughout the year, designed to accelerate professional growth. Members are eligible to compete for the Travel Industry Young Leadership Award by providing a case study or presentation highlighting their experience and key takeaways from The Young Leaders Summit and The PhoCusWright Conference.
Mr. Konwiser won the $10,000 PhoCusWright prize for his presentation on the future of mobile technology in the travel industry. His winning presentation is featured on the FlightCaster blog:http://blog.flightcaster.com/why-the-mobile-buzz-is-fizzing-and-how-not-to.
"It's exciting to be in such a dynamic industry that not only encourages young leaders to play a major role in innovation, but creates ways to stimulate that leadership such as the Class of 35," said Mr. Konwiser. "Through this program and the conference overall, PhoCusWright plays a major role in connecting the travel industry in a way that leads to business deals, career opportunities and meaningful relationships."
