Seventh Annual GBTA Canada Conference Breaks Attendance Records

Forty Percent Increase Over Last Year’s Exhibitor Showcas

The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), the premier business travel organization in Canada, concluded its record-breaking 7th Annual Conference in Toronto today.  The conference was held March 28-29, 2011, and included more than 300 corporate travel professionals from across Canada and around the world.

GBTA Canada President, Tanya Racz, CTE, CCTE said, “At the GBTA Canada Conference, our goal was to provide a forum for the latest and greatest products and services, an exciting array of speakers, and the most informative educational conference—we met and in fact exceeded our goal.  We assembled over 50 companies to showcase their products and services to a sold out conference—a forty percent increase over last year’s exhibitor showcase.”

Attendees were provided with an overview of corporate sustainability challenges and how to globalize business travel from a European perspective. Delegates also took the time between education sessions to network with travel suppliers at the Exhibitor Showcase. They heard from an impressive line-up of speakers: Peter Greenberg, CBS News Travel Editor, Dr. Sherry Cooper, Executive Vice President and Chief Economist, BMO Financial Group and Amber MacArthur, a leading voice of the Web generation.

“In addition to producing an informative conference, for the second year we produced an environmentally responsible event," said Ms. Racz.  "We worked closely with all stakeholders to plan and implement a conference that reflected our outlined green-meeting best practices.  We were thrilled to be able to accomplish this in addition to satisfying our members, sponsors, and exhibitor’s conference needs. “
