OpenTravel Alliance (OpenTravel), the travel industrys leading distribution specification and standards development organization, announces the addition of a working lab during this years Advisory Forum, being held in Las Vegas Nevada April 25 27, 2011.
As the travel industry adopts modern messaging frameworks, OpenTravel is focused on advancing schema standards from a message-centric view to a common set of “standard vocabulary-based” components from which all messages are constructed. Join us for this three-hour lab event, led by OpenTravel experts; Bonnie Lowell, Specifications Manager, OpenTravel, David Morley, Senior Architect, Marriott International, Dave Hollander, Enterprise Service Architecture, Sabre Holdings.
“In today’s global, internet-ready marketplace, we have seen the maturing of travel industry applications and tools in parallel with the commoditization of XML use. OpenTravel is creating a consistent XML vocabulary that allows the travel industry to exchange information while supporting the new generation of service frameworks such as REST and Web Services,” stated Bonnie Lowell, Specifications Manager, OpenTravel Alliance.
Participants will have an opportunity to learn how to create "best practice-based" OpenTravel 2.0 Types for inclusion in OpenTravel 2.0 Type Libraries. The new OpenTravel 2.0 code-oriented schema design provides increased support for web services and other modern messaging frameworks and supports OpenTravel schema binding in different tools & languages. During this session, the XML schema and business objects required to create a generic "Tour Availability" message will be created.
Host city Las Vegas and the Aria Resort & Casino at City Center will welcome OpenTravel attendees from April 25 – 27, 2011. For the full agenda, visit the Advisory Forum web site. This event is open to member and non-member companies and organizations.
