Maritz Announces Departure of Maritz Travel President & CEO Christine Duffy
Chief Operating Officer Jane Herod to Serve as Interim President
Maritz has announced that Maritz Travel President and CEO Christine Duffy is leaving Maritz to accept a position with Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) effective Feb. 1, 2011. Duffy will serve as CLIA’s president, and will remain an executive advisor to Maritz Travel. Beginning Jan. 1, 2011, Maritz Travel Chief Operating Officer Jane Herod will serve as interim president of the company.

“Christine is a true leader in the travel industry, and has helped Maritz Travel and the entire travel industry weather tough economic times during the last decade,” said Steve Maritz, chairman and CEO of Maritz. “We’re a people company with a family atmosphere, so it’s tough to say goodbye. However, everyone at Maritz wishes her the best and we’re grateful for her years of service.”
Duffy joined Maritz Travel in 2001, when Maritz acquired her company McGettigan Partners. As president and CEO of Maritz Travel, Duffy and her team built the company’s strategic meetings management business and meetings effectiveness solutions, while strengthening the connection between business goals and incentive travel programs.

Maritz Travel COO Jane Herod has been with Maritz since 2004 when she came on board to lead the Maritz Incentives business. That business has since merged with Maritz Loyalty, and Herod has worked in Maritz Travel since 2007. As chief operating office, Herod oversees the day-to-day operations of the Maritz Travel business and helps to manage client and partner relationships.
