Sustainable Travel International's New Partner Program Provides Travel Industry with Affordable Tools to Jump Start Sustainability
Starting at just $250 per year, the new program provides a user-friendly, market-tested approach to running a greener business.
Travel and Tourism Providers interested in joining the burgeoning sustainable travel movement and those looking to bolster their existing efforts to be green will get a considerable boost from non-profit Sustainable Travel International's new Partner Program.
Starting at just $250 per year, the program provides participating travel and tourism providers with user-friendly, market-tested tools to integrate sustainability planning and management into their day-to-day operations, reduce their carbon footprints, protect the places they visit, and effectively market themselves to the ever-growing green travel market.
The centerpiece of the new program is a license to use STI's online Sustainability Management Framework, which includes a Self-assessment tool that helps users measure and manage their social and environmental impacts and lower their operating costs. The tool doubles as an application for the Sustainable Tourism Eco-certification program (STEP) for companies interested in having their green claims verified and endorsed by STI.
Partners also receive a wide array of marketing benefits including a 12-month listing on STI's website and on Green.travel, an online resource for travelers who want to learn about responsible travel and book their next vacation, as well as a company listing and unlimited media postings on STI's online magazine The Responsible Travel Report.
According to Brian Mullis, CEO of Sustainable Travel International, " Thousands of companies within the travel industry want to operate in a more socially and environmentally responsible manner but often they don't know how or where to start. We created our new Partner Program to give them an affordable, easy-to-use approach to get on the path to greater sustainability right away. It also provides them with the means to effectively communicate their sustainability efforts to the right audience."
Annual partnership fees range from US$250-$750 and are based upon the number people employed by the partner organization. The program is open to travel and tourism providers, non-profit organizations, academic institutions, and destinations seeking to operate more responsibly and reach new customers.
