Palm Springs Unveils New Advertising Campaign

The Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism has launched a campaign designed to showcase that Palm Springs is 'Like no place else. The advertising campaign sets its sights on Las Vegas, a destination with similar characteristics and a few key differences.

“But, as we all know, Palm Springs has a more relaxed pace. It is a shorter drive, no traffic, no long check-in lines, and plus, you can be lounging by the pool hours earlier.”

The tagline, “Like no place else” supports the campaign entitled “Palm Springs vs. Las Vegas” comparing the two destinations in a playful rendition of large vs. small.

“This new ad campaign highlights the reason why travelers visit Las Vegas and Palm Springs…year-round sunshine, easy accessibility and a festive atmosphere,” said Mary Jo Ginther, Director of Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism. “But, as we all know, Palm Springs has a more relaxed pace. It is a shorter drive, no traffic, no long check-in lines, and plus, you can be lounging by the pool hours earlier.”

The ad series shows compelling images of Palm Springs with creative headlines, such as:

  • “Vacation in sweet desert air. As opposed to bus and taxi exhaust.”

  • “We don’t blow up our 50-year old architecture.”

  • “Enjoy spectacular backdrops unobstructed by giant neon cowboys or fake Eiffel Towers.”

  • “Getting high means something completely different to us.”

Palm Springs has long been a desert playground for visitors from all over the world seeking the perfect combination of casual relaxation and outdoor adventure. Its village atmosphere, mid-century modern architecture, chic resorts, iconic characters and unique attractions are key motivators of why Palm Springs is “Like no place else.”

“It’s just a different experience here,” says Ginther. “The ultimate relaxing experience begins the moment you land at Palm Springs International Airport at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains, or coming through the windmills while driving from Los Angeles. We love Vegas, and know that visitors will come to love Palm Springs as much, or even more.”
