“ACANA Plays Major Role in Shaping DOT Policy”
A press release was recently issued (“ACANA Plays Major Role in Shaping DOT Policy” 06/07/10) claiming they launched a campaign and played a pivotal role in educating the DOT and shaping their recent policy shift regarding air charter brokers. However, the DOT Public Docket points out ACANA was only one of many simply asked to respond to DOT’s inquiry on the subject matter. The association did not lead a charge to modify DOT policy.
“The industry must come together in order to work towards solutions with the DOT that benefit the overall air charter industry, not just a single organization,” states Deborah W. Maestas, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of CSI Aviation Services, Inc.
Public comment is a vital and necessary component of DOT rulemaking and many will help to shape this in the months to come.
