Utah-based 5 BUCK PIZZA (founded 1987) has increased by 1 unit, from 23 to 24 (4% growth).  These are take-out/delivery pizzerias, open for lunch and dinner.  Catering and online ordering are available.  Trading areas are ID, NV, and UT.

KOYA JAPAN based in St Laurent, PQ (founded 1985) has increased by 1 unit, from 25 to 26 (4% growth).  These are take-out Japanese restaurants.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $4-$10.  Catering is offered.  Locations are in AB, BC, MB, NL, OB and PQ.

WHITESPOT RESTAURANTS
 headquartered in Vancouver, BC (founded 1928) has increased by 4 units for Triple O’s, from 42 to 46 (10% concept growth) and by 3 units for Whitespot, from 61 to 64 (5% concept growth).  These are family/casual restaurants with full bar and seating for around 150.  Meal periods are breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Drive thru and banquet facilities are available.  Overall company growth is from 103 to 110 (7% company growth).  Locations are more than 40% franchised and are in AB and BC.

Irving, TX-based CHUCK E CHEESE'S (NYSE: CEC; founded 1977) has increased by 2 units, from 544 to 546 (1% growth).  These are family/casual pizza restaurants, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner hours.  Per person check average is $6-$12.  Beer and wine are served and seating is for about 400.  Private party service is available.  Less than 10% of the locations are franchised.  Trading areas are AB, AK, AL, AR, AZ, BC, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, HI, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, ON, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, SK, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI, and WV.

Concepts with 20 units or less who grew by at least 2 units. 

Independence, OH-based PANINI'S BAR & GRILL (founded 1986) has increased by 2 units, from 15 to 17 (13% growth).  This is a family/casual bar and grill concept, serving American cuisine.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner, with a $6-$12 per person check average.  Catering and delivery services are available.  Locations are franchised and trade in OH. 

THE WING WAREHOUSE based in Akron, OH (founded 1993) has increased by 3 units for the Wing Warehouse concept, from 8 to 11 (38% concept growth).  These are family/casual restaurants serving beer and wine.  Seating is for around 150.  Per person check average is around $6-$12.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Catering is offered.  There is a second company concept called Scorchers (6 units).  Overall company growth is from 14 to 17 (21% company growth).  Locations are 82% franchised and are in OH.

Edmonton, AB-based BOOSTER JUICE (founded 1999) has increased by 27 units, from 229 to 256 (12% growth).  This is a quick serve juice/smoothie concept, open for lunch and dinner hours.  Per person price range is $3-$8, with limited seating.  Catering is available.  All units are franchised and trade in AB, AZ, BC, CA, FL, ID, MB, NB, NL, NS, NY, ON, OR, PQ, SK, TX, UT, WA, India, The Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.  We have featured this concept 4 times in the past 18 months (2/24/09-8% growth, 6/30/09-7% growth, 10/27/09-5% growth, and 3/3/10-5% growth).  The company also appeared twice on our Top 20 Fastest Growing Concepts list (#3 in February ’09 and #3 in August ’09). 

Huntington Beach, CA-based BJ'S RESTAURANTS (NASDAQ: BJRI; founded 1978) has increased by 4 units, from 92 to 96 (4% growth).  These are family/casual restaurants, serving American cuisine.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner, with a $10-$30 per person check average.  All units have a full bar and average seating for about 300.  Private party service and online ordering are available.  Trading areas are AZ, CA, CO, FL, IN, KY, LA, NV, OH, OK, OR, TX, and WA.  We featured this concept on 1/13/09 (5% growth), 10/20/09 (5% growth) and 3/9/10 (5% growth).

SUNSET GRILL RESTAURANTS based in Mississauga, ON (founded 1985) has increased by 1 unit, from 24 to 25 (4% growth).  These are family/casual restaurants with seating for around 80.  Beer is offered.  Meal periods are breakfast and lunch.  Locations are more than 50% franchised and are in ON.  We reported on this concept on 9/1/09 (11% growth) and on 2/2/10 (14% growth).

West Palm Beach, FL-based HURRICANE GRILL & WINGS (founded 1995) has increased by 4 units, from 30 to 34 (13% growth) and entered into OH.  These family/casual restaurants serve chicken wings and other American cuisine.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner, with a $6-$12 per person check average.  Units have full bar and seating for about 100.  Catering is available.  All units are franchised and trade in AZ, FL, NY, and OH, with a Southfield, MI location to open later this year.  We wrote about this concept on 2/23/10 (11% growth).
