Cafe Rio Mexican Grill Receives the Equivalent of an Academy Award As Sandelman & Associates' #1 Rated Mexican Restaurant Chain in the United States

There may not have been a gold statue given while rubbing shoulders with Julia Roberts or Robert De Niro, but in the restaurant industry Cafe Rio just received the Oscar equivalent.

Sandelman and Associates' Quick Track Award of Excellence is an honor limited to the very best restaurant performers in the nation. Awards are based on several aspects of dining, including taste of food, overall service, speed of service and value. Cafe Rio was rated "excellent" in every category.

The Utah-based restaurants started in 1997 and are known for their made-from-scratch, flavorful meals and extremely fresh ingredients. Although no stranger to winning multiple awards, Cafe Rio is overjoyed at this newest honor. President and CEO Bob Nilsen comments, "We are so proud of this nationally recognized honor. Our #1 priority has always been about making the best possible food, using the freshest ingredients, and giving our loyal customers a great experience. We are proud, pleased and humbled for being rewarded for doing what we love."

Cafe Rio was recently in the news for yet another honor. The Mexican restaurant was chosen to represent the State of Utah by Senator Orrin Hatch in Washington, DC. Cafe Rio catered a luncheon for the US Senate on Capitol Hill this past December. "My Senate colleagues are still talking about how delicious the Cafe Rio lunch was last year," Hatch said. "I am so proud of this Utah-based restaurant."

At a time when most restaurant chains are scaling back, Cafe Rio is having a growth spurt. Having just opened up new restaurants in Cedar City, Las Vegas (UNLV), Denver, Manhattan Beach and Lake Forest, California, their eyes are focused on the future. Expect to see additional restaurants this year in Denver, California, Idaho and Washington, DC.

Cafe Rio Mexican Grill, Inc., headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, is one of the leading quick casual restaurants specializing in fresh Mexican cuisine. The company currently operates over 30 restaurants in Utah, Nevada, Idaho, California, Colorado, Arizona and by the end of the year, Washington, DC.
