The Avascent Group Strengthens Its Space and Telecom Team

The Avascent Group, announced today that it has deepened its capabilities in the space, telecom and defense markets with the addition of Stephen Ganote as a Principal with the firm.

"Stephen brings a wealth of industry and consulting experience across the full breadth of the aerospace and defense sectors, most notably in space and telecommunications," said Avascent Group President, Steve Irwin. "We're pleased to have him join our leadership team."

Mr. Ganote will focus principally on continuing Avascent's growth in space, communications and select defense technology markets, leveraging his past consulting and industry experience. Mr. Ganote joins Avascent from Booz & Company's Aerospace & Defense practice (formerly part of Booz Allen Hamilton), where he led a range of management consulting engagements for leading private sector and government clients. Previously, he held management positions in business development and corporate strategy at Intelsat, the world's largest provider of satellite communications services, at Washington Advisors, 360networks, and COMSAT Corporation. Mr. Ganote also served as a legislative assistant in the US Senate focused on trade, finance and business policy issues.

Mr. Ganote holds degrees from Duke and Georgetown, serves as a member of the board for the Washington Space Business Roundtable and was a co-founder and Executive Board Member of the Satellite Industry Association.
