CLIA Unveils Newly Enhanced Online CLIA Academy
Travel Agents Can Now Access Entire Training History in One Place
In its ongoing effort to make valuable training and Certification more convenient, easy and efficient, Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has announced a major enhancement to www.CLIAacademy.com, the highly utilized online resource where travel agents can register for courses, enroll in Certification programs, take examinations online, access transcripts and link to other useful information.
Now, agents have the opportunity to create one master account at www.CLIAacademy.com that allows them to review all their training activity and history in one place, with all their archived personal records tied together, rather than to have to access records separately. For example, exams from any training venues will now appear on the agent's new master record and will be available online for the first time ever. This is accomplished with the help of a dedicated team of Customer Support personnel who compare and merge records to create the new master account. Agents simply follow an easy three-step registration process:
Step 1: The agent visits www.CLIAacademy.com to create register for a new master account
Step 2: The agent then lists as many personal logins from previous training courses as possible at the prompt "Claim My Old Record.” Customer Support then takes over.
Step 3: The agent waits for email confirmation of their record merges and then will have access, with a single login, to their entire training history.
"CLIA has utilized online technology and resources in training and Certification for more than a decade. As the scope and diversity of training opportunities continue to expand, we believe it is important to provide every possible resource to help agents maximize the efficiency and productivity of their commitment to professional development,” said Tom Cogan, CLIA’s Director of Training. “This enhancement to www.CLIAacademy.com, which provides agents quick one-stop access to their entire training and Certification history, including live classroom and internet records, enables them to immediately see where they stand. The rewards will be outstanding."
Response to the new capabilities has been immediate and positive. More than 600 agents created new master accounts in the first four days and CLIA’s training department expects thousands of others to follow quickly. CLIA is the recognized leader in travel agent education and delivered over 40,000 total training events in 2009. CLIA's Agent Training Program (local classroom training) and online training programs alone served over 11,000 agents in 2009, with 19,000 exams taken.
