Cheap TAP Portugal Flights (TP)
Overview
TAP Portugal is the Portuguese leading airline, member of Star Alliance since March 14, 2005, the same day on which the company also celebrated its 60th anniversary. Its Lisbon hub is a key European gateway at the crossroads of the African, North & South American continents, where TAP stands out as the leading carrier in operation to Brazil, currently with 67 frequencies a week.
TAP’s current network comprises 59 domestic and international destinations in 26 countries world-wide, with an even greater range of cities beyond its own system-wide network served by code-share operations with a number of partner airlines all over the world.
Thus, TAP offers customers an extended and highly flexible choice while providing them with the most convenient scheduled flights and easy connectivity onto further distant destinations.
Along with PGA, acquired in 2007, TAP currently offers over 1,850 weekly flights in average, on a modern fleet of 53 Airbus aircraft, to which add some more 16 aircraft servicing PGA. In the whole, the Company’s current fleet now comprises 69 aircraft.
Quality service to customers is the company’s top priority and as such TAP continuously strives to upgrade and improve its product and services tailored to meet travellers’ expectations.
Retaining the Portuguese character of the Company’s brand and quality service as the basic concept and its differentiating mark has been the main driver of TAP strategy in most recent years.
TAP is changing – New Branded Products launched in summer 2008.
“Come aboard the Freedom of Choice – One Flight, Five ways to Travel”
Medium haul fleet renewed throughout 2009.
Keeping abreast with change, TAP redesigned its commercial strategy and launched new products aimed at different targets.
These were designed to add more quality and flexibility to services offered to customers along with a wider choice, a new focus on price and the strengthening of the Company’s transparency in communicating with the travelling public.
Thus and pursuing an orientation whose top priority is customers and living up to their expectations, TAP launched, in summer 2008, five new branded products: tap/executive; tap/plus; tap/classic; tap/basic and tap/discount, based on the concept “Come aboard the freedom of choice – One Flight, Five ways to travel”.
These new fare products were developed to meet customers’ different motivations and needs, and include, in the whole, a varied offer of features and services, ranging from the best promotional prices (tap/basic & tap/discount) to the best Business class service (tap/executive).
Within the same orientation, TAP is currently pursuing its medium haul fleet renewing program, with the phase-in of six new A320-214 aircraft in progress throughout 2009. Those new aircraft are replacing the former A320-200 in operation, with considerable advantages brought in, either to the quality of services and comfort offered to Customers on board or enhancing the company’s environmental efficiency in eight per cent annually, also adding to increased operations reliability.
Recent Awards
In 2008, TAP was awarded, for the 5th year in a row, the Best Airline prize by the "Publituris" newspaper and was also awarded as the company offering the Best family-friendly policy in Portugal.
The Frequent Flyer Program (FFP) – TAP Victoria – also won Freddie Awards as Program of the Year, Best Redemption Award and Best Member Communications in 2005.
In November 2007, TAP was awarded at the WTM (World Travel Market) in the U.K., in recognition for its highly valuable contribution to the development of the Tourism industry in Portugal.
