Star Wars tourist locations to see during vacation
TravelPapa has revealed the most popular Star Wars tourist locations from the new movie
The mountainous landscapes of Ahch-To Planet from the movie were filmed exactly at Skellig-Michael. In the new movie fans can learn more about the mysterious island (and its cute fauna), but besides that, the history of the island itself is much more interesting. Beginning from the VI-th century, the island was populated by monks, that were dwelling straight among the local cliffs in the stone caves. In 1996 the island was included in UNESCO World Heritage List and as it was getting more and more popular the government has strengthened its protection. So, nowadays if you want to visit the famous island you have to leave an application in advance.
The absolutely unbelievable landscapes of Salar de Uyuni are really looking like a view from another planet. But nevertheless, this place may be truly considered one of the world’s real wonders, as during the dry season it looks like the Moon surface and during the rains this huge saline plain turns into the largest mirror in the whole world!
The Croatian city of Dubrovnik has already gained a huge fame, due to the “Game of Thrones” - one of the world’s most famous TV shows. In the new movie it turned into the city-casino, something like Monte Carlo in the real life. Actually, Dubrovnik doesn’t need to be filmed to attract travelers. Its old city with its narrow streets, red tiled roofs, amazing views and turquoise sea annually attract thousands and thousands of tourists from all over the world. Unfortunately, during the last few years Croatia and Dubrovnik especially became even too overcrowded with foreigners, so it has even got into the risk to get excluded from UNESCO World Heritage List.
